    Recipe Introduction

Here are some variations you may want to try:

Leave out the chocolate chips and instead sprinkle crushed candy canes or other crushed candy on top. I used crushed mint candy canes, and it gave the brownies a subtle mint flavor

    List of Ingredients

    Double Chocolate Chip Fudge Brownies

    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 1/2 cup flour
    1/3-1/2 cup baking cocoa powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    2 egg whites
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

    Recipe

    Preheat your oven to 350.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs until frothy.

Add the sugar, applesauce, and vanilla extract, and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Then combine the flour, cocoa, and salt and add the flour mixture and chocolate chips to the egg mixture.

Stir it just until the dry ingredients are moistened.

Pour the batter into a 11x7 baking dish coated with nonstick spray.

    Bake 30 minutes.

Cool in the pan on a rack.

    Makes 15 bars.
