    Fried Green Beans

    Source of Recipe

    Jacobs Granny

    Recipe Introduction

These are delicious. They make them at the Pub where I worked, and they're one of our best selling appetizers. To make a great, quick dipping sauce, you can experiment with sauces, but a little mix of Ranch dressing, a little parmesan cheese, and, a couple tspns of A-l sauce makes a tasty savory dip that is popular. Just make it to your personal taste, or use any dip you prefer. sue

    List of Ingredients

    Fried Green Beans

    1/2 cup(s) Dijon mustard
    1/4 cup(s) honey
    2 teaspoon(s) hot sauce
    1 1/2 teaspoon(s) light soy sauce
    1 pinch(s) dry mustard
4 cup(s) canola oil, for frying
    2 large egg whites
    1 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
    1 1/4 cup(s) club soda
1 pound(s) green beans, ends trimmed
    Salt, to taste

    Recipe

In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk first 5 ingredients until warmed.

Transfer sauce to a small bowl; let cool.

In a medium Dutch oven fitted with a thermometer over medium-high heat, heat oil to 350 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, whisk egg whites to soft peaks.

Whisk in flour and club soda.

Working in batches, dip beans in batter, then lower into oil.

Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes.

Drain on paper towels; sprinkle with salt.

    Serve with dipping sauce.
