    Bread, Apple Loaf

    List of Ingredients

     1/2 cup margarine
     1 cup white sugar
     2 eggs
     1 teaspoon vanilla extract
     1 cup apples - peeled, cored and shredded
     2 cups all-purpose flour
     1 teaspoon baking powder
     1/2 teaspoon baking soda
     1/2 teaspoon salt
     1/2 cup chopped walnuts



    Recipe

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

    2. Mix together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and nuts.

    3. In a large bowl, beat butter or margarine, sugar, and 1 egg until smooth. Add second egg, and beat well. Stir in vanilla. Stir in shredded apples. Pour flour mixture into batter. Stir only until moistened. Scrape into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

    4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 50 to 60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes, then remove from pan. Place on a rack to cool.
