    Bread, Applesauce Pecan

    Recipe Introduction


    This is from Southern Living Annual recipes, 1990


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/2 cup raisins
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 cup applesauce
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil


    Instructions


    1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl

    2. Stir in the pecans and raisins. Make a well in the center.

    3. Combine egg, applesauce and oil. Add to the well in the dry ingredients.

    4. Stir just until moistened.

    5. Spoon into a greased and floured 8-1/2 X 4-1/2 X 3 inch loaf pan.

    6. Bake in a 350F preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

    7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
