    2 cups unbleached flour, sifted

    4 teaspoons baking powder

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, grated

    1/4 cup butter

    3/4 cup milk

    Recipe



    1. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together and mix with the grated cheese.

    2. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients; add the milk and mix quickly but thoroughly. The dough should be soft.

    3. Knead lightly on floured board; pat to 3/8-inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.

    4. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

    Serves 8.
