    Bread, Pineapple Nut Bread

    Recipe Introduction


    This recipe was cut from a Del Monte ad.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 2 eggs
    • 4 cups sifted flour
    • 2 tsp baking soda
    • 3/4 tsp salt
    • 1 can (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
    • 1 can (15-1/4 oz) Del Monte crushed pineapple in its own juice
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts


    Instructions


    1. Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well.

    2. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.

    3. Alternately add dry ingredients and orange concentrate to creamed mixture; mix well after each addition. Stir in pineapple and nuts.

    4. Turn into 2 greased and floured 8-1/2x4-1/2 inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool on rack.
