Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract. 3. Combine flour and salt and blend into creamed mixture. 4. Shape into rolls, wrap in waxed paper, and chill until ready for baking. 5. Cut into 1/4-inch slices; place on lightly greased cookie sheets, and bake at 400 degrees F. for 8 to 10 minutes. Yields 8 to 10 dozen cookies
