1 (2-pound) beef round steak, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup Burgundy
3/4 cup beef broth
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (3-ounce) can whole mushrooms, drained
2 tablespoons snipped parsley
2 bay leaves
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Paprika (optional)
Parsley for garnish (optional)
Hot cooked noodles
Recipe
1. Coat beef with a mixture of salt and flour, using all the flour. In skillet, melt butter; brown meat on all sides. Transfer to crockpot.
2. Combine the remaining ingredients except noodles. Stir into meat. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 3 hours. (Meat may be held another hour by turning to low-heat setting.)
3. Remove bay leaves. Serve beef over noodles, sprinkle with paprika and garnish with parsley, if desired.
