    Note from Charles: “This chili can be served after cooking for approximately an hour, but more flavor is gained by longer cooking. The recipe can be doubled over and over. I've made this chili for 250 people.”

    List of Ingredients




    2 pounds ground beef

    2 cans chopped tomatoes

    4 (16-ounce) cans red kidney beans (undrained)

    1 (12-ounce) can tomato sauce

    1/2 cup chopped onions

    3 tablespoons chili powder

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 bay leaf

    1/4 cup green pepper, chopped (optional)

    Recipe



    1. In a large skillet brown ground beef.

    2. Combine beef with remaining ingredients in a large pot and simmer 4 to 5 hours.

    Serves 8 to 10
