    List of Ingredients




    1 pound ground beef (Italian sausage can be added with the beef for additional flavor.)

    2 eggs

    1 clove garlic, minced

    Chopped parsley

    3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    3/4 cup bread crumbs

    1/2 cup boiling water

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    2 tablespoons cooking oil

    1 (1 pound, 13-ounce) can tomatoes, drained*

    1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

    1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste

    1-1/2 tomato cans of water* (see above)

    Recipe



    1. Combine beef, eggs, garlic, parsley, cheese, crumbs, boiling water, salt and pepper. Shape into oval balls.

    2. Heat oil in skillet; brown meatballs on all sides. Remove from heat; set aside.

    3. Strain fat from skillet into a large saucepan. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste and 1-1/2 cans water. Bring to boil; simmer 45 minutes.

    4. Add meatballs to sauce; simmer 45 minutes longer.

    Serves 4
