    List of Ingredients

4 boneless, center-cut loin pork chops (4 ounces each), about 3/4-inch thick, trimmed

    1/2 cup bread crumbs

    1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    1/2 teaspoon turmeric

    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    1 egg white, lightly beaten

    Recipe

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large pot, combine pork chops and enough water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

    2. While chops are simmering, on a sheet of waxed paper, combine bread crumbs, garlic salt, pepper, oregano, and turmeric. Mix well.

    3. Drain pork chops and pat dry. Dredge in flour. Dip into egg white, allowing any excess to drip back into bowl. Dredge in bread crumb mixture, patting so crumbs adhere.

    4. Place chops in a medium baking dish. Cover; bake, turning once, until tender, about 30 minutes. Place on individual serving plates. Serve immediately.

Comment from “Healthy Meals”: “For a real Mexican twist, substitute 1 teaspoon chili powder for the garlic salt and 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper for the oregano.”
