    Steak and Asparagus Stir-Fry

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound flank steak, sliced into thin strips (against the grain)
    1 pound fresh asparagus spears (thin spears) sliced into 2-inch pieces,tough ends trimmed off
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
    1/2 tablespoons sugar
    1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
    1 large clove fresh garlic, chopped
    1 tablespoon cooking oil
    2 whole pieces of fresh ginger
    1 whole clove fresh garlic


    Recipe

    1. Place oil, whole ginger pieces and whole garlic cloves in a wok and cook over low heat to flavor the oil. Remove ginger and garlic.

    2. In a very hot wok, stir-fry beef to medium or medium-rare.

    3. Add soy sauce, sugar, chopped garlic and asparagus.

    4. When nearly done (asparagus still firm) add sesame oil and serve.

    Note from cook who submitted the recipe to FoodWeb: "For softer asparagus, cook with beef the entire time. Also, you can add a sprinkle of water or white wine. Serve over steamed rice."
