1. Cook onion in melted shortening until transparent. Add meat and brown lightly.
2, Put in a large saucepan and add remaining ingredients, except sour cream. Bring to a boil over low heat (Mixture will burn easily). Cover and simmer until noodles are tender, about 30 minutes.
3. Stir in sour cream; heat gently to boiling. Add more seasoning, if desired.
