Hero Boy Special

From my own file; passed down from my mother. Good if you have to make lunch for a crowd.





List of Ingredients



• 1 lb ground beef
  
• 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  
• 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  
• 3/4 tsp salt
  
• 3/4 tsp oregano
  
• generous dash of pepper
  
• 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  
• 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  
• 4 hero rolls, split lengthwise, toasted
  
• 16 tomato slices (2 med tomatoes)
  
• 24 square slices sharp Cheddar cheese
  






Instructions



1. Combine beef, tomato sauce, onion, salt, oregano, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and bread crumbs in large bowl. Mix well.
   
2. Spread mixture evenly onto toasted roll halves, covering edges completely.
   
3. Place on cookie sheet and bake in hot oven (400F) for 30 minutes.
   
4. Top each roll with 3 tomato slices and three cheese slices.
   Return to oven for 5 minutes to melt cheese.
