    Stir-fry Sauce

    Recipe Introduction


    This is a basic sauce for stir-fry dishes. Saute an assortment of sliced vegetables in 2 tablespoons oil (bell peppers, snowpeas, celery, onions, mushrooms, etc and 2 cups of meat (cubed, cooked pork, chicken, shrimp, etc.)and add to sauce. Serve over rice.


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 tablespoons dry sherry
    • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 2 tablespoons oil
    • 2 cups vegetables
    • 2 cups meat or seafood


    Instructions


    1. Combine first 4 ingredients. Set aside.

    2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in wok or large skilletStir fry vegetables in oil for 3 minutes (e.g. 4 ounce snow peas, 1 sweet green or red pepper, sliced,and 10 large mushrooms, sliced)

    3. Add 2 cups cooked meat or seafood and stir-fry an additional 1 minute.

    4. Add sauce and cook, stirring until thickened.



    Final Comments


    Serve over hot rice.

    Makes 4 servings
