1/2 package (about 3/4 cup) mixed dried fruit
1-1/2 cup water
1/4 cup dried cherries or dried cranberries
1/4 cup light raisins
1 2 inch stick cinnamon
2/3 cup unsweetened white grape juice
2 teaspoons quick-cooking tapioca
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons currant jelly
Recipe
Pit prunes, if necessary and cut up any large pieces of fruit. In a medium saucepan combine mixed dried cherries or dried cranberries, raisins and cinnamon. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir together white grape juice, tapioca and nutmeg, let stand for 5 minutes. Stir tapioca mixture into cooked fruit mixture along with jelly. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove stick cinnamon. Serve warm or chilled.
