Mushrooms Au Vin
This is from my recipe file. I have no idea where it came from, but it's very good. (It sounds like something from Food and Wine or Gourmet Magazine.)
List of Ingredients
- 1/4 lb butter
- 2 or 3 shallots, chopped
- 2 or 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-1/2 lb fresh button mushrooms
- 2 cups Chablis
- Salt
- Lemon pepper
- Chopped parsley
Instructions
- In butter in 5 quart Dutch oven, saute shallots and garlic, stirring, until irridescent.
- Add mushrooms (which have been wiped with a paper towel) and wine. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally for 2 hours.
- Season with salt and lemon pepper. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
