    MOCHA CHIP CHIFFON CAKE

    • 2 1/2 cups once-sifted cake flour
    • 3 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1-1/2 cups fine granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup salad oil
    • 5 egg yolks
    • 3/4 cup cold strong coffee
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 3 oz. chilled semi-sweet shaved chocolate
    • 1 cup egg whites
    • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    • Icing:
    • 1 1/2 cups cold milk or instant coffee
    • 1 pkg.. (envelope) Dream Whip
    • 4-oz. pkg. Jello Chocolate Instant Pudding


    Instructions


    1. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and half the sugar; add vanilla and shaved chocolate. Add salad oil, egg yolks, and coffee. Beat on medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. In another bowl, beat the egg whites and salt in mixer until foamy. Gradually beat in remaining half cup of sugar until glossy meringue is formed. Fold meringue into the cake batter. Pour into an ungreased angel food tube pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and invert. Remove from pan.
      Icing: Put all in a bowl and whip until it stands in peaks.
