- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 2 cups cold water
Instructions
- Place flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mix ingredients by rubbing them between palms of hands. Add vanilla, salad oil, vinegar, and water and stir just enough to blend ingredients. Tun batter into ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan; lightly smooth batter with rubber scraper. Bake in 325 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until centre of cake springs back when touched with finger. Cool cake in pan on wire rack.
