    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups thinly sliced carrots
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 3 teaspoons chicken seasoned stock base
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 4 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
    • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
    • 2 cups milk


    Instructions


    1. Combine carrots, water, 1 teaspoon of stock base, and lemon juice. Cook until carrots are tender and liquid is reduced to about 1 tablespoon. Melt butter; add flour and the remaining seasonings, stirring until smooth. Add milk and simmer, stirring until thickened. Mash carrots, put through sieve or puree in blender. Add additional milk or cream to get desired consistency. Serve hot. Makes about 4 cups.
