- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 cup shortening, melted
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 5 cups flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. In mixing bowl, mix shortening, buttermilk, and sugar. Add dissolved yeast. Sift together the dry ingredients. Mix until well blended. Turn desired quantity onto a well floured board. Roll and cut biscuit. Bake at 450 for 10 to 15 minutes.
