Hash Brown Casserole

2 cups crushed cornflakes
3/4 cups melted butter or margarine, divided
2-10 oz. packages frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups sour cream
1-10 3/4 oz. can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheeseRecipe
Combine crushed cornflakes and 1/4 cup melted butter.
Set aside.
Mix potatoes with remaining 1/4 cup melted butter.
Add salt, pepper, onions, sour cream, soup and cheese.
Blend well.
Pour into large greased casserole pan.
Cover with cereal crumbs.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 45 minutes.
