Potato Soup II

Recipe Introduction
This soup is wonderful. My husband's aunt Sue's mother-in-law gave her this recipe shortly before she passed away. The secret is the whole milk or half and half. This is NOT low fat, but is delicious.
List of Ingredients
5 lbs. peeled cubed potatoes
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 lb. bacon
2 sticks butter
2 cans Campbell's 'select' clam chowder
2 cans whole milk or half and half
salt
pepperRecipe
Slowly cook potatoes, celery, carrots and onions in a small amount of water until vegetables are tender.
Brown bacon and cut into pieces.
Cook potatoes.
Add bacon, butter, clam chowder, whole milk or half and half, salt and pepper.
Heat slowly.
