    CRETONS à L'ANCIENNE

    Source of Recipe

    Aunt Mireille Sauvé - November 13, 1985

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 lb. fresh ground pork, not too lean
    • 2 slices of bread, torn into crumbs
    • 1 onion, grated or finely chopped
    • 2 tsp salt, to taste
    • 1/2 tsp pepper
    • 1/2 tsp clove
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 cup milk

    Instructions

    1. Blend all ingredients together in a saucepan. Cover and cook on low heat approximately 1.5 hours.

    2. When pork is well cooked, you may gently purée the mixture in blender (or squish well with fork or wooden spoon if you have no blender).

    3. Pour the spread into small containers (used Kraft dip bowls).

    4. Excellent on crackers or toast, almost like pâté de foie gras. Better than storebought.

    Final Comments

    Creton freezes very well.
