    Source of Recipe

Mrs. Berthe Tanguay, former School Teacher in my Hometown, Hearst, ONT

    Recipe Introduction

Very tasty and creamy squares which I usually prepared for Christmas.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup Butter
    • 1/2 cup Sugar
    • 1 Egg
    • 1/4 cup Cocoa
    • 1 3/4 cups Graham crumbs
    • 1 cup Coconut
    • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
    • 1 tsp Vanilla
    • ICING
    • 1/4 cup creamed butter
    • 2 cups icing sugar
    • 3 TBSP. milk
    • 2 TBSP of Instant Jello Vanilla Pudding
    • 1 Tsp. Mint extract or Crème de Menthe liqueur
    • 3-4 Bakers' semi-sweet Chocolate Squares

    Instructions

    1. Mix first 4 ingredients in double-boiler and stir until it resembles a creamy milky texture.
    2. Add coconut and nuts, graham crumbs too, and mix well.
    3. Press in a greased 9 X 9 pan (or 12 X 8).
    4. Spread the icing on top.
    5. When that is firm, melt the Bakers' chocolate squares with 2 Tsp. butter.
    6. Spread over the icing.
    7. Refrigerate and cut in squares.

    Final Comments

Succulent and quite appropriate for Christmas.

Note to file: Given to me by Diane Cyr (from Berthe Tanguay)
