Butter Dips (from scratch)

1/4 cup butter -- melted
1 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Pour melted butter into a 9-inch square baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add milk and stir until a soft dough forms.
Knead dough lightly 10 times on a floured surface. Divide dough into 2 pieces. Roll each piece into an 8-inch square. Cut each square into 9 pieces.
Dip strips in melted butter, coating on both sides, and then arrange strips close together in 2 rows in the baking pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 18 sticks.
