    Rhonda's Yeast Bread

    Source of Recipe

    15 Minute Cooking

    Recipe Introduction

One of the easiest bread recipes to make. Good too.

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup hot water
3 tablespoons yeast -- or 4 packages yeast
8 cups flour -- can use half whole-wheat
    2/3 cup sugar
    4 teaspoons salt
    3 cups hot water
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup flour -- up to 2 cups more to form a soft, easy to manage dough

Pour hot water into a 1-quart mixing bowl. Sprinkle yeast over top. Do not mix. Set aside. In a 4-quart mixing bowl, combine first amount of flour, sugar and salt. Mix well. Stir yeast and water mixture. Pour into large bowl. Add 3 cups hot water, vegetable oil and yeast mixture into a large bowl. Blend all together. Mixture will be sticky. Add enough flour, 1 to 2 cups, to form a soft, easy-to-handle dough.

Divide dough into 4 mounds. Place in 4 loaf pans coated with non-stick cooking spray. Cover lightly with waxed paper. Let rise for 30 minutes in a warm area of kitchen. Toward end of rising time, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place pans of dough into hot oven. Bake for 30 minutes or until bread is nicely browned and a little crusty on top.

    Makes 4 loaves.
