1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/8 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Mix together margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Add to butter mixture and stir well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased (or parchment lined) cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool a few minutes and then place on cooling racks. Makes 36 cookies.
