    3 pounds cooking apples
    10 slices bread -- cubed, about 4 cups
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup brown sugar -- packed
    1/2 cup butter -- melted

    Recipe





    Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths; place in bottom of slow cooker. Combine bread cubes, spices, salt, brown sugar, butter; toss well. Cook on low setting 2 to 4 hours. Serves 6 to 8.
