Cranberry Puffs with Butter Sauce

Here's a recipe from an old Bisquick cookbook. I usually make this during the holidays.


List of Ingredients




Cake

3/4 cup cranberries, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup baking mix, Bisquick suggested
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
Sauce
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup cream



Recipe



Cake

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix 1/2 cup sugar with chopped cranberries. Set aside. Blend cake ingredients and then beat well for 30 seconds.

Spray muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray. Add batter to 8 large muffin cups. Fill cups 2/3 full. Bake 15 minutes. Serve with Butter Sauce.

Butter Sauce

Mix butter, sugar and cream in a saucepan. Cook 5 minutes over low heat to prevent scorching.

Note: I like to add a dash of nutmeg to the sauce. Adds a bit of something special.
