Strawberry Ice Cream

List of Ingredients
1 quart fresh strawberries -- washed and hulled
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whipping (heavy) cream
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
Recipe
Mix strawberries and 1/2 cup sugar in bowl; let stand about 1 hour,
stirring occasionally. Mash strawberries.
Whisk together remaining ingredients. Cook in a medium saucepan over
low heat, stirring constantly, about 8 minutes until mixture thickens.
Stir in strawberry mixture.
Chill mixture about 2 hours. Pour into ice-cream freezer; freeze
according to manufacturer's directions.
