    Skillet-Braised Pork Chops

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 to 6 pork chops, 3/4 to 1-inch thick
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/2 cup water


    Instructions


    1. Brown pork chops in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper. Add the water. Cover and cook on low (simmering) for 45 minutes or until the chops are fork-tender.

    2. Remove chops to a platter and keep warm. Skim off fat from meat juices in pan. Spoon liquid over chops.

    3. Serves 4 to 6.

    4. To make Pan Gravy: In cup, blend 1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon flour until smooth. Remove chops from skillet and then remove fat. Whisk in flour mixture then cook, whisking all the while, until gravy thickens.

    5. Oven Braised: Bake pork chops at 350 degrees F in an oven proof skillet. Bake 45 minutes or until fork tender.
