Yummy Southern-style green beans.


List of Ingredients




1 package Oscar Meyer bacon bits
1 small spoonful bacon grease
16 ounces frozen green beans
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe



Add all the ingredients to a large saucepan. Add enough water to just cover. Bring to a boil and then lower heat. Simmer for 1 hour, with the pan lid slightly ajar, until green beans are tender. Most of the cooking liquid should have cooked away. You may have to turn the heat up to high and boil off some excess cooking liquid, if needed.

Can be frozen or served immediately.

Serves 6.
