    Recipe Introduction


    This takes a long time in the oven, but is easy to prepare. Taste just like cabbage rolls without all the fuss! Even my picky 4 year old ate seconds!

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 pounds very lean ground beef
    2 med. onions, chopped
    5 garlic cloves minced
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 16 oz can tomato sauce (I used Italian seasoned)
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup uncooked rice (not instant)
    6-8 cups shredded cabbage

    Recipe



    Brown ground beef just until it looses its pink color. Drain if necessary. Add onions, garlic, salt and pepper, tomato sauce and water. Bring to simmer, add rice and cook for about 10 minutes until rice is partially cooked. Remove from heat.

    Spread half of cabbage in greased (Pam) deep dish. Cover with half of meat mixture, Repeat layer. Do not stir. Cover with foil tightly and bake at 350 for 1-1/2 hours or until cabbage is tender.
