    1 c. Hot water
    1 tsp. Salt
    6 T. Shortening
    2 T. Lukewarm water
    2 T. Yeast
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/4 c. Sugar
    3 ½ c. Flour

    Recipe



    Combine hot water, salt, shortening and sugar. Cook until lukewarm. Add yeast, softened in lukewarm water. Add egg. Add half of the flour to first mixture. Beat well. Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead on floured board. Roll into balls, place in greased muffin tins, brush with melted butter. Cover and allow rolls to rise in warm place until double in size. Bake at 425 for about 12 minutes. Makes 18 rolls.
