    1/4 lb butter
    3/4 t salt
    1/2 c instant potato flakes
    1/2 c warm water for yeast
    4 c flour
    1 egg
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 T (two pkgs.) dry yeast
    1 c milk
    1. Start your yeast in the water.

    2. Put the butter, milk, salt, sugar and potato flakes in a large sauce pan and heat until the butter is melted. Set aside to cool.

    3. Add the egg and 1-1/2 c flour and make a stirable batter. Add yeast and stir well.

    4. Add more flour to make a soft dough. Knead well and place in greased bowl. Let rise for 1-2 hours.

    5. Dump out on floured surface and divide into 24 pieces. Shape in balls and place in greased muffin tins. Let rise about 1 hour,

    6. Bake 10-15 minutes at 400 deg F.

    What you got may have been made from sourdough since it was from Amish
