    Source of Recipe

    ME, MYSELF, AND I
    APPLE PIE THAT I LIKE
The kids ate apple pie for breakfast and told me not to change a thing when I made it again...I wanted to use the Lemon Zest but didn't have any so used 1 TBS of lemon juice and it was good. I also used the crumble topped on the pie.....

    APPLE PIE THAT I LIKE

Mixed aookes are tge best for pies..
    INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds or 7 cups of Granny Smith apples/Johnation apples and some deleous apples peeled and
sliced then put in a little water (about 1/2 c.) and cook until
tender. Add 1 TBS of Lemon juice
then add the rest of the things and thicken.

    1 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. + nutmeg, ground (sprnkle on top of apples)or like I do now use 1 TBS of apple pie spices + 1/4 tsp..
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. lemon zest if have
2 tablespoons butter I use a little more.

    1. Peel and slice apples, cook until in tender.. Toss with sugars,
cinnamon and flour. add the rest and thicken, then pour into crust.
I have to use Pillsberry crust as I can't roll out the dough
    anymore...
350 degrees F and continue baking for about 35-40
minutes , until crust is golden brown. This the right temp if the
    filling is hot..

    **For a crumble topped pie...**

    3/4 cup flourcrumble topped pie..
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/3 cup melted butter

Rub together ingredients and top pie, before you bake. For the crumble topping, bake pie in a preheated 350 degree F. oven for 40 mins. ..............
