Fried Pies
I think you'd have to have grown up on biscuits to appreciate this, but this is what I do:
Filling:
3 C dries apricots (Sam's has the BEST)
1 1/2 C water
6 T sugar
Just cook at med/low heat until you can mash them. Then cool.
Thaw frozen biscuits. Roll out on floured board to at least twice original size. Place 2-3 T filling on one side. Moisten entire edge with a bit of water. Fold over and crimp.
It never once dawned on me to bake these fried pies, but after reading your question, I tried it this morning.
John thought they were even better than fried. So we can do away with the skillet and oil. I baked these at 400 for 15 minutes.
