    I deciphered this recipe just yesterday. It's my grandmother's lemon pie--and according to my great-aunt Marina, she was well known for it. The recipe was dated, in my great-aunt's handwriting as July, 1925. Jackie

    Bruna's Lemon Pie

    1 cup sugar
    3 TBS. cornstarch
    Juice of 1 lemon
    2 cups boiling water
    2 egg yolks

    Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add lemon juice, then boiling water. Cook until thick. Add beaten egg yolks by putting 2 TBS. hot mixture in them, then add to rest of filling. Pour in baked pie crust. Cover with beaten egg whites and bake till brown
