RED CHERRY PIE (MONA)
1 1/3 cup Sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 cups sour pie cherries
1/2 stick oleo
(Sometimes I add red food coloring to get red color.)
Mix all in a saucepan and heat until boiling and thick.
Pour into 9’ pastry lined pie pan.
Cover with another piecrust and bake in oven at 425
for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown.
This is the only way I make fresh cherry pie. I have a tip on how to seed cherries by using a paper clip after opening it up. This works faster than any other way I have ever tried. Mona
