    ***Texas Sheet Cake

    TEXAS SHEET CAKE

    1/4 c. cocoa

    1 Tbsp. cinnamon

    1 c. water

    2 c. sugar

    3/4 c. margarine

    2 eggs

    2 1/2 c. flour

    1/2 c. buttermilk

    1 tsp. baking soda

    1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix cocoa and water into a saucepan.

    Add margarine.

    Bring mixture to a boil; cool slightly.

    Sift together flour, baking soda and cinnamon.

    Blend together (do not beat) sugar and eggs iin large mixing bowl.

    Blend in cocoa mixture.

    Add dry ingredients alternatly with buttermilk,

    stirring after each addition, until well blended. Stir in vanilla.

    Pour into greased jelly roll pan.


    Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.

    Frost right away with chocolate icing.

    CHOCOLATE ICING

    1/2 c. margarine

    3 to 4 c. powdered sugar

    1/4 c. milk

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1/4 c. cocoa

    1 cup chopped walnuts

    Melt margarine in milk in small saucepan.

    Mix cocoa and powdered sugar;

    stir into milk mixture.

    Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well.

    Spread on cake.
