    Beef in Wine Sauce


    3 lb.s beef stew. (I usually dice up a trimmed chuck roast.
    1 package onion soup mix
    1 can Golden Mushroom soup
    1 cup red wine
    1/4 cup sherry wine
    sprigs of fresh thyme (optional)
    8 oz. mushrooms, quartered
    Carrots (optional. The original recipe called for them but I find it too "carroty" in this.

    Mix everything together and cook in the pot for about 8-10 hours or in a 350º oven for three hours. Yummy!
