LAYER SALAD 1
Seven layer salad"
1 med. red onion, thinly sliced
1 head lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, uncooked
4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
1 lb. crisp-fried bacon, crumbled
2 tbs. sugar
3/4 cup mayo
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Separate onion into rings. Layer lettuce,
peas,
onion rings, egg slices and 12 oz. bacon in
glass
bowl. (I use the large one that comes with a
stand
mixer. It's clear and the salad looks pretty
with the
layers showing) Sprinkle with sugar. Cover
with
mayo. Top with cheese. Garnish with
remaining
bacon. Chill, covered overnight.
Do not mix. It sort of mixes itself as
everyone
serves themselves. Yield: 12 servings.
