Chili Sauce
This is something I keep in my pantry. We love it with everything, beef, pork, seafood. If you have a spare gallon of tomatoes, try it. I know you'll be glad you did.
1 gallon chopped tomatoes
2 C chopped onion
2 C chopped sweet peppers
1 garlic button (or toe, if you prefer) chopped
1 T salt
1 C brown sugar
1 1/2 C white sugar
3 C vinegar
Hot pepper to your taste
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground allspice
2 tsp cinnamon
Combine in heavy pan. Cook slowly until reduced to half. Process in jars.
Note: I cooked this for 8 hours last night. It takes awhile, but it's worth every minute.
