Broccoli Cheese Soup
GROUP 1:
2 - 16 oz. bags frozen chopped broccoli
1 large onion chopped fine
1/2 cup powdered chicken stock or bullion
3-5 tsp. garlic powder
3-5 tsp. oregano
3-5 tsp. celery salt
3-5 tsp. white pepper
8-12 dashes tabasco sauce
3-5 tsp. Aunt Jane s Crazy Mixed Up Salt
Water to cover
OTHER INGEDIENTS:
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/4 - 1/2 cup flour
1 lb. Velveeta Cheese
2 qts. Half & Half
3-4 cups (12-16 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
Place all group 1 ingredients in a large stock pot
and cook at least 15 minutes or until broccoli is
tender. Cool for 15 minutes and place in blender
to puree.
Melt butter in clean pot. Mix in flour with wire whisk until well
blended. Blend in completely the pureed broccoli. Heat thoroughly.
Blend in cheddar cheese. Recipe makes 6-8 quarts ... enough to fill a
large slow cooker.
