Southern style Creamed Corn
6-9 ears of sweet corn*
1½ cups water/or milk
¼ cup butter
2 tsp. sugar
salt & pepper to taste
Into a lg bowl
Cut corn top layer off the cob, then cut second layer,and then scrape the cob,getting the juices Then place all ingredients in a skillet,bring to a boil and turn low and simmer till kernels are tender and the corn has thickened. Sometimes you may need to use a little cornstarch and water to thicken, depends on what type corn you use.
* I like to use Silver queen corn because to me it is sweeter and lg kernels. This can be frozen...
