Blackberry Oat Crisp
This is basically the same recipe as the apple oat crisp, but it has a few changes due to the increased amount of juice and the lack of sweetness in the berries compared to the apples.
List of Ingredients
8 c. marionberries (or other blackberry)
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 tbsp. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 1/3 c. rolled oats
1 tbsp. cinnamon (Spice Hunter has a Sweet Spice
that I like to use)
Whipped cream or ice cream
Recipe
Put berries, sugar and flour in a large bowl to mix and then into a 9x13 baking dish. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and flour. Then cut in butter. Add oats and spices. Put this over the berries and bake for 1 hour (or until you can see the middle of the pan bubbling) at 300. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Note: if you've started with frozen berries then it will take a little longer than 1 hour. Cover with foil so the top won't burn.
You can cut this in half for a 9" square pan.
