OLD FASHIONED SUGAR COOKIES

1 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. salad oil
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, oil and both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Sift dry ingredients; stir in and blend well. Refrigerate one hour or overnight. Roll into one inch balls and dip in sugar and flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake in350 degree oven for 10 minutes. At xmas I frost them in red and green frostings.


This is an old recipe from 4 old maid sisters that were wonderful cooks. They won many ribbons at the county fairs in the area.
