Polish Lasagna
This sounds like a good German winter dish.
POLISH LASAGNA
8 oz Polish sausage
4 oz spiral pasta
4 oz butter
4 oz canned mushrooms, undrained
4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 LB sauerkraut
1 small onion, diced
garlic salt, black pepper and regular salt to season
parsley (either fresh or dried)
oil for pans
Cook the pasta al dente is salted water. Drain and put into a large
pan, set
aside. Saute onion in 1 T butter till translucent. Add the
undrained
mushrooms, stir together and add to the pasta. Pour the sauerkraut,
juice and
all, over the pasta. Chop the parsley or used dried and add it
along with
the cheese to the pasta. Add the rest of the butter to the pasta.
Stir to
combine the ingredients, season with garlic salt and black pepper.
Cook on
low heat until all of the butter and cheese has melted and serve.
Nice with
a tossed salad and crusty French bread.
Serves 4.
This is really really great, but as usual I don't know where it came
from (At
the moment from my extra good recipe folder) Hope you enjoy as much
as we
did. Sydne
