    Paper Bag Apple Pie

    Source of Recipe

    A good friend Norma Pisel

    Recipe Introduction

My friend brought this to work one day years ago.

    List of Ingredients

1 unbaked 9" deep pie shell
6 large apples ( I like to mix several kinds of apples)
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 T. flour
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    2 T. lemon juice

    Topping
1/2 c. white or brown sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c butter or margarine

    Recipe

Slice apples. You should have seven cups.
    Place in a large bowl.

Making filling by combining sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and toss to coat. Spoon into pie shell. Drizzle with lemon juice.

Combine 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. flour and then cut in butter. Sprinkle over apples to cover top.

Slide pie into a heavy brown grocery bag. Fold end over twice and fasten with paper clips. Place on a large cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for one hour.

I sprinkle some cinnamon over top of pie before baking just for color.
You can also add some chopped pecans to topping/
